Privacy policy
Go Explore Nepal Pvt. Ltd. is a travel company registered in Kathmandu, Nepal. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you enquire or book with us, why we hold it, who we pass it to, and how to ask us to delete it. It applies to goexplorenepal.com and to enquiries we receive by email and WhatsApp.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry
Our contact form asks for your name, email address, the number of people travelling, what you are interested in, and your message. If you message us on WhatsApp we also hold your phone number and the conversation.
When you book
Your name, email address, street address, city and country
Your travel dates and the number of travellers
The trip you booked and any changes you ask for
An account is created on our website when you book, so you can see your booking details. We do not take card payments on this website, so we never hold your card number.
For permits and bookings made on your behalf
Treks and restricted areas require permits issued in your name. When your trip needs one we ask you separately, by email or WhatsApp, for passport details and a photograph. Hotels and domestic airlines also need the names on your passports. We ask for this only when a specific booking requires it.
When you use the website
Our server keeps standard access logs, including your IP address and browser. We use Google Search Console to see which search terms bring people to the site; it reports totals and never identifies individuals.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, prepare your itinerary, make the bookings your trip needs, file your permits, contact you while you are travelling, and keep the accounting records Nepali law requires us to keep.
Who we share it with
Hotels, lodges and tea houses, to hold rooms in your name
Airlines and transport operators, for flights and vehicle bookings
Our guides and drivers, who need your name and contact number during the trip
The Department of Tourism and conservation area offices, for TIMS cards and permits
Our bank, when you pay by transfer
We share only what each of them needs. We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to advertisers or marketing companies.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for two years. Booking and payment records are kept for seven years, which is what Nepali tax and company law requires. Passport copies are deleted once the permits are issued and the trip is finished.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will reply within thirty days. We will delete what we are able to, though we cannot remove records we are legally required to retain, and we cannot withdraw information already filed with a permit office.
Cookies
This website sets cookies to keep your booking in progress while you move between pages, and to remember your choices. They are not used for advertising or to follow you to other websites. You can block cookies in your browser, though the booking pages may stop working properly if you do.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date below.
